"The Handball Rule" - the most misunderstood rule in Soccer 

Covered under FIFA Law 12 for Fouls and Misconduct:

Technically there is no specific handball rule, something which suprises casual observers of the game. The portion of the Law which covers what we typically consider handball is stated as follows: a player commits and offence where he/she "handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area)"
