Occasionally, inclement weather will cause the city to close the grass fields that we rent to run our programs. This could mean that your child's soccer practice or league game might be cancelled for that day if it was scheduled to happen on a grass field. Parents are asked to familiarize themselves with the Halifax Field Conditions website at the link below:

It is updated each day by 3:00pm and should be your go-to place to see if practices or games are a go each day, as the HDSC office is not staffed every day. Even if a day is sunny and hot, the city has been known to close fields if there was torrential rain the day before, so it is always best to check before heading to the field.
Please note that the All-Weather Turf Fields (MLC, HE, or BHP) are open regardless of rain, and would only close if thunder and lightening was occurring.
